Traditional Warm Tones – 2012
The basics bones of this kitchen were good, but it was time to lose the outdated desk area, add detail to the island, and integrate the new appliances.
White painted cabinets suited this home perfectly, but adding in the Hickory island and fireplace mantle helped bring warmth and interest to the space.
We added furniture-type legs and radiused the countertop edge at the end of this island to give it detail and proportion.
Rather than pull-outs, this kitchen is outfitted with drawers throughout nearly all of the lower cabinets – in a variety of sizes and configurations. The cabinets above the ovens have dividers for tray storage.
Mantle is Hickory, with the same medium stain as the kitchen island. The fireplace surround and hearth are Onyx stone tiles. The back panel of the bookcases is upholstered with suede.
